Business Updates For 2021

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We have made it through 2020, now let’s see if we can make a better 2021 for everyone! 

The past year has been a struggle for everyone, and Sin-able Sweets was not immune from having setbacks throughout all the crazy times.  We reduced our operating days to only Friday and Saturdays since April, and through the summer it was only curbside pickup.  We reopened to walk in business a few months later, and we will continue to be open to walk in business right now until further notice. Also, for the near future, we will continue to be open only Friday and Saturday from 9AM until 5PM.  If we make any changes to days or hours, we will notify you as soon as we can via our website, Facebook, and direct email, especially if hours are being reduced.  However, we are really looking forward to being open more to serve everyone.

While it is not a negative thing, we will be making a change to the day of our Centralized Distribution Points (CDPs). They are currently set for THURSDAY each week, but starting in February that will change to TUESDAY. The website will be updated to reflect this as well as we’ll be putting out notices on all our social media about this change.  This will allow us to be in a better position to reopen for extra days of the week once that time comes. We’d rather start the process now and have it be a planned, gradual change.

There have also been some positives as well.  We have the new soft serve machine.  While we were hoping to have that up and running for Oktoberfest in Mount Angel, which did not happen in 2020 as most of you know.  We have had a few flavors of the soft serve available for sale, but we are wanting to be open more days before we get the big machine back up and running.  We do have a small machine on temporary loan that we are using to make small batches right now, so, soft serve will still be with us, just in pint sizes only at this time.  Also, the new ovens we had contracted just before COVID changed everything, have been installed and are a blessing for sure. They will allow us to ramp up with the increased business needs once we’re able to be open more days.

We updated our website to allow orders for pick up to be placed and paid for online, and we added that functionality for the Centralized Distribution Points (CDPs) as well.  We will be working more on the website to try and get orders for shipping done online also, but do not expect that in the next couple of months.  If you are looking to place a shipping order, you can place the order online, and someone from the bakery will contact you to finish up the order.  We appreciate your help and understanding with this extra step.

We also updated our cash registers at the bakery.  While that usually is not a big deal for customers, the good news about it is this – we will have gift cards!  We will turn on this functionality soon.  We will forewarn you now that GIFT CARDS WILL NOT WORK ONLINE!  When we have them up and running, we will send out a separate announcement for that. 

In the near future, you will also notice we are going to be revamping the selection of items at Sin-able Sweets.  We want to make sure we are trying new things but we will always keep everyone’s favorite things; oatmeal cookies, eclairs, German chocolate cake, and parfaits.  While we may reduce the number of parfaits flavors available, we are looking to bring in new flavors as well.  We will always make sure we have a couple that are Keto-friendly, and at least one that is low/no gluten.
