Good day Sin-able Sweets customers!
With Oktoberfest in our rearview mirror this year, it is time to look forward to the fall and holiday seasons. We wanted to let you know what we are planning for the last months of the year, and what we are looking forward to starting the next year!
This week, we are going to start on getting pies ready for sale. First will be pumpkin and pecan, and then we will start working on fruit pies, except for Marionberry. If you have not yet heard, with the pandemic last year our supplier went through more of their backstock than they had planned
originally. Then, the heatwave in June wiped out most of what was on the vine and are not going to have them in stock until next season. So, we are looking at Summer 2022 before we have any marionberry items back in stock unless I find a supplier that has them. I will continue looking, but want
to make sure everyone is aware.
Next in line will be Pumpkin cookies by the end of September. We know everyone loves them, and with all the issues we were dealing with last year, it was difficult to bring them in, but now we will have them back this year. We will also have the Pumpkin Parfaits starting sometime in October. We will announce when the parfaits are coming in.
Next is a little housekeeping for everyone. For some reason, I have not been allowed to post anything but Birthday Greetings on Facebook for the last month. I have been in direct contact with Facebook and even they have no idea why this is happening and no ideas on how to resolve it. This has caused us not to be able to post timely updates for you, our customers, so we have been working on making sure you are getting all the Sin-able Sweets news.
Regarding keeping in touch. First, I try not to email too often. I have more email accounts that I care to mention, and when I am see, in my opinion, too many emails from one company, I stop looking at the emails typically and start deleting before reading. We want to make sure our emails at the beginning of the month let you know about the CDPs for the month, and any news that happened during the month to let you know. If you are wanting more information in those emails besides CDPs, please send an
email to suggestions@sin-ablesweets.com.
Second, because of not being able to post on Facebook, we are going to post all updates directly on our website, and then have it repost to social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google My Business, Pinterest, and Linked In in the beginning. If there are other social media apps that you use and would like to see updates there, please send an email to suggestions@sin-ablesweets.com and I will start exploring if we can get our business on them. This way, it will not matter which social media platform you use, you can go to our blog on our webpage, https://sin-ablesweets.com and always know the most current information is right there.
Third, we want to let you know about, is there will be an increase in prices in many of our items coming in the next few weeks. As you, as a consumer buying anything, have seen most of the items you use, have gone up in price, and they have gone up for us also. Included on that, this summer’s heat has increased our electric usage, and there have been 2 minimum wage increases that we had absorbed to make sure we could continue to make items for you and not raise and lower prices. Also, most pricing will change from being at quarters and go to being in increments of nickels. Instead of $2.75 or $3.00 for something, it could be $2.80, $2.85, $2.90 or $2.95.
Finally, a bit of schedule preplanning for everyone. Halloween is on Sunday, October 31st this year, so if you want items for a Halloween party, you need to have your orders in to us by Saturday, October 23rd at 5:00PM.
Thanksgiving is November 25th this year. We will be taking orders for pick up between November 17th and 20th, with a due date of November 12th. We will have a limited selection of pies (both personal and full sized) on Wednesday, November 24th. Of course, we will be closed on November 25th, and reopen for business on November 26th at 9AM.
This brings us forward to Christmas and New Year. Christmas and New Year’s Day are on Saturdays this year, so we will be closed both days. We will take orders for Christmas until December 17th. We will have limited selections on pies the week of Christmas (December 22-24). We will be closing at 3PM on Christmas Eve and New Year Eve. If you are looking for items for New Year’s Eve, we will need your order in by December 23rd.
That is everything we needed to bring you up to speed on. We are looking forward to this holiday season, and seeing getting their favorite sweets and treats!
