Good day from Sin-able Sweets! We are going to cover a couple of topics in this post, the first thing will be the Re-opening of Oregon as of June 30, 2021.
As of June 30th, Oregon has officially reopened, and most of the mandates that were put into place for SARS-Cov-2, otherwise known as COVID-19 or Coronavirus, back in early 2020. Restaurants, lounges and bars, shopping malls, and all stores are able to get back to pre-pandemic activities, including not wearing facemasks.
Here at Sin-able Sweets, the first thing we want to make sure everyone understands is this:
While we are looking forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces in the bakery, and to showing our smiles off too, we are ultimately here for our customers to help them enjoy the best life possible. This includes our customers with medical conditions that makes them more susceptible to infections, including COVID-19, so we are going to error on the side of caution for Sin-able Sweets and continue to have employees to wear masks while in the bakery. WHO, Los Angeles County, and Israel (Israel has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world) are continuing to recommend masks to help with the highly transmissible Delta Variant of COVID-19.
The biggest reason for our staff to continue to mask is as a preventative measure for any of our customers that have co-morbidities that makes them more susceptible to any virus or disease. That means when we are out in public, without a mask, and there is a person who unfortunately has been infected, we might be able to carry it around, and possible “shed” it to someone who cannot take the vaccine, or with weakened immune system where the vaccine is not as effective in protecting them.
It is July 1. In the last 15 months, we as a community, have been through a pandemic, historic wildfires, windstorms, 50-year ice storms and just got past the historic heat! We have made a lot of history over the past 15 months. I do not know about you, but I am looking for some non-historic times!
We are starting to put our plans into place for Oktoberfest. With the pandemic coming to an end, we are thinking there will be no restrictions for Oktoberfest. That could mean an extremely busy month of September for Sin-able Sweets. We are going to continue to do a rotation of parfait specials, there will be a new special starting the middle of July! Look for the announcement coming up soon! We will also be rotating thought some of our other parfaits. Almond Joy, Pecan Crumble, Apple Cinnamon, and Caramel Doodle, will be coming and going. We will put out announcements each time one of these rotates through, so, pay attention, there will be a new one soon!
There have been some items we have not brought back into the bakery, and we are now putting plans into place to get them back. First, we will be bringing back the soft serve in the next week or two. We have not brought them back sooner wanting to make sure we could continue to offer them without any breaks. Next will be our pies. Summertime is not normally a time when pies are ordered in great quantities so we will have them back on the website for ordering just after Oktoberfest, that is typically when our pies start selling in larger quantities. If you are looking to order a pie before then, please give a call to the bakery and place an order with us. Right now, please give about 2 weeks’ notice so we can make sure we have the ingredients for your request.
As a reminder, we do make full cakes in 8 Inch round, quarter, half, and full sheet cakes. Right now, we do not have a cake decorator that can do decorating of cakes, but we can do a basic decorating and provide them as a clean canvas for additions of your choice.
If you have special requests, or a recipe you think might work well at Sin-able Sweets, please do not hesitate send it in to us.
We are looking forward to getting back to normal and seeing everyone again when getting your favorite sweets and treats!
Your Sin-able Sweets team.
